Visitors to North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands can learn all about Sea Turtles at these Turtle Talks! It’s Sea Turtle Nesting Season! In North Carolina the nesting season is mid-May through August.

Sunset Beach Turtle Talks

Sea Turtle Talks take place at 7:00 pm Sunday evenings beginning on June 9th, 2019 and running through August 28th, 2019, during the nesting months. Turtle Talks are held at Sunset Properties, located at 419 Sunset Blvd S, Sunset Beach, NC.
Members of the Sunset Beach Turtle Watch Program will discuss the life cycle of sea turtles, provide you with do’s and don’ts to help keep our turtles safe, and answer your questions about these gentle giants that nest on our beaches every summer. These programs are free and there are games for children as well.
This year’s topic is Plastic Straws. We use 500 million plastic straws a day in the US, so this season we are sponsoring our “Skip the Straw” campaign and we offer stainless steel straws for a $5 donation.

Ocean Isle Beach Turtle Talks

Join one of the weekly turtle talks, Monday afternoons at 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the Museum of Coastal Carolina on 21 East Second Street.
The Monday Turtle Talks begin May 27th, 2019 and end September 2nd, 2019. The turtle talks are free with regular admission to the museum.

Holden Beach Turtle Talks
Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Every Wednesday in June, July, and August, at 7:00 p.m., the Holden Beach Turtle Patrol conducts Turtle Talk. This free program is held at Town Hall. You will enjoy a short video about the life cycle of a sea turtle and how the Turtle Patrol helps preserve the sea turtles. Several turtle artifacts will be on display and educational materials are available. There is also plenty of time for questions and answers.
Turtle Talks are held at the Holden Beach Town Hall, located at 110 Rothschild Street, Holden Beach, NC.
Please plan on arriving early since seating is limited and the program will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.

Oak Island Turtle Talks

Every Wednesday this summer beginning June 12th at 6:00 pm the Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection patrol team conducts weekly educational sessions. This program focuses on the lifecycle of the sea turtle, nesting, and how the program aids in the preservation of sea turtles.
Turtle Talks take place at the Oak Island Recreation Center located at 3001 E. Oak Island Drive, Oak Island, NC.
