View the largest gathering of shell collections in the state and some of the world’s most beautiful, unusual and rare shells!
The North Carolina Shell Club presents the 43rd Annual North Carolina Shell Show from August 23rd, 2019 to August 25th, 2019 at the Coastline Conference & Event Center in Wilmington, an event for all — children and adults, casual collectors on the beach, and the most experienced malacologists and naturalists.
Learn how to start a collection and shop for shells from on-site vendors. The show features exhibits in more than twenty categories from North Carolina collections and single shells to natural history and shell photography.
The purpose of the show is to promote highest quality shell show. All Awards except “Peoples Choice,” will only be made if the judges determine an entry has been made deserving a given award by quality and content.
For example an exhibit entered as the sole contender within a given category must fulfill the parameters of a high quality exhibit in order to earn a first place award in that category. Awards including trophies will not be made if no exhibit has earned them.
North Carolina Shell Club emphasizes reasonable and responsible collecting in order to minimize the environmental impact and preserve natural habitat and mollusks for future generations to enjoy and learn from.
