Before starting Made By Meg Jewelry in November 2008, Meg graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Studio Art with a concentration in painting. Unfortunately, jewelry design was not a concentration. However, Meg also love painting and painting class is where she met my husband.
Besides jewelry making, Meg tried most forms of visual art. Ceramics, printmaking and drawing are also interests of mine. Meg always had a passion for the arts. Her first memory as a child was of painting with her easel.
Meg attributed her artistic talents to her mother and grandmother. Looking at her mother’s quilts and various crafts, and her mother’s tole painting and Ukrainian dyed eggs, it was apparent that her gift of art came from them.
Meg grew up in Connecticut, moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for her junior year of college. Meg loves the beach and enjoys looking for sharks’ teeth with her husband. They have an extensive collection. There was not much sea glass to be found in the area, so they use that as an excuse to go on vacations.
When not making jewelry and doing other business related things, Meg likes to spend time with family. She can often be found with my nose in a book, reading some kind of sappy love story. She and her husband spend most weekends doing home improvement projects. They seem to add to their list of ideas faster than thery can complete them. The important thing is they always have fun working together on their projects, while making ther home all theirss.
Meg loves her life and the people in it.She can’t wait to see what the world has to offer her in the future. “You never know what each new day will bring”.
