Not everyone likes to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a huge mug of green beer! So here is a classic recipe for those folks who want to celebrate with something Irish but different.
Ingredients
- 16 oz. of hot water
- 2 tsp. of light brown sugar
- 2 oz. of Irish whiskey
- 1 cup of brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream for topping
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Fill two mugs with hot water and let them sit for two minutes (to heat them up).
- Pour out the water and add 1 teaspoon of light brown sugar to each of the mugs.
- Pour hot coffee over the sugar and stir to dissolve sugar, then pour in the Irish Whiskey (we like Jameson but any kind will do).
- In a separate bowl use an electric mixer or by hand, whisk the cream until there are soft peaks formed.
- The cream should be thick but still be pourable. Top the coffee with cream by gently pouring it over the back of a warm spoon forming a thick layer on top of the coffee. Finally, garnish your creation with some chocolate shavings.
